Amitabh Bachchan born on 11 October 1942 in an Indian a Hindu-Sikh family as Amitabh Harivansh Bachchan. He born in Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh to Dr. Harivansh Rai Bachchan and Teji Bachchan . His brother’s name is Ajitabh Bachchan. He is also known as “angry young man” of bollywood industry of 1970’s.
Their surname was Shrivastava but as his father was a well-known Hindi poet, had adopted the pen-name Bachchan, under which he published all his works. When Amitabh entered in bollywood he also used Bachchan as surname and from that time Bachchan has become their surname for all his family.
He has done his school education from Allahabad’s Jnana Prabodhini and Boys’ High School (BHS). He completed his Bachelor of Science degree from Kirori Mal College of the University of Delhi.
In 1973 he married Jaya Badhuri. They have two children, Shweta Nanda and Abhishek Bachchan. Abhishek is also an actor and is married to actress Aishwarya Rai.
During one fight scene of movie Coolie on 26 July 1982 Bachchan suffered a near fatal intestinal injury. He remained critically ill in hospital for many months, at times close to death. His fans had prayed to god to save him. There were long queues of well-wishing fans outside the hospital where he was admitted. After many months he recovered and then remaining part of movie was completed. The film Coolie was released in 1983 and due to that accident the film became hit.
In 1984, he decided to take from acting and entered in politics
